How we work
Referral process
Whether you are being referred by a professional involved in your care, or are referring yourself, the first step is to fill out the Referral Form in as much detail as you can. You can find the referral form here, or if you prefer to call us and have us fill the form out with you over the telephone then get in touch on 0207 428 5999.
Information session
Once your referral is received and processed you will receive a letter to invite you to an Information Session, which usually take place on a Friday morning here in Camden. The half-hour session gives us a chance to explain in full how the project works and what you can expect from the service, and if you feel that the service is not right for you we can suggest some alternatives and signpost you to the right service.
Initial Interview
If you are happy to take up the services offered by Jobs in Mind then you will invited to meet with a Senior Support Advisor for an Initial Interview. This is a chance for us to find out in more detail what you are looking for, and to discuss your education, training or employment goals. We will also ask you to give us your perspective on your mental health and the kinds of support you need to help you to progress.
Allocation of a Vocational Support Advisor (VSA)
Having completed the Initial Interview you will be allocated a worker who will then be your point of contact during your time with Jobs in Mind and will provide you with up to 15 sessions of support on a one-to-one basis. Your worker will help you to set goals to work towards and set these down in your Action Plan. Throughout the process your worker give information and advice on your particular goal and how to go about achieving it. There will be regular reviews of progress and practical support around job-searching, CV’s, application forms, interview techniques and much more.
Ongoing one-to-one support
During your one-to-one sessions your advisor will help you to focus on your specific needs, which may include issues around vocational interests, disability disclosure, benefits, and transferable skills or abilities. Throughout your time with us your advisor will help you to monitor your progress, assist you to deal with any issues or concerns you may have, and liaise with the professionals involved in your care. Once you find the acticity that suits you, your advisor will continue to offer you their support to make sure you have settled in and you feel confident enough to continue without their help.
