Programmes we offer
Jobs in Mind offer the following specialist support programmes. Contact us for more information about any of these projects.
NW1 project
This innovative programme offers intensive support to young people in Camden and Islington who have emotional/mental health problems. The advisor is experienced in working with young people to assist them in making important decisions about their future and offers practical assistance with choosing courses or applying for jobs.
The project also offers outreach support to young people who find it hard to engage due to anxiety issues.
Job retention programme
The Job Retention programme supports people with stress related/mental health problems currently in work and who feel they are at risk of losing their employment. The job retention advisor works both with client, employer, union representatives, and occupational health to ensure that the client gets back into their employment. This programme has achieved 90% outcomes through its dedicated and experienced advisor.
Vocational services
Clients are supported through a structured, person-centred support package providing advice and guidance to access and sustain educational, training and employment opportunities. This includes practical assistance around CVs, application forms, interview practice and job searching techniques.
GP based services
We currently deliver services from various GP bases to ensure that we are meeting the needs of clients with common mental health needs. This programme engages clients in a familiar setting and supports GPs to help clients to gain and sustain education, training, voluntary and paid employment.
Job Club
Clients can access the job club on a weekly basis at our offices where several staff are on hand to offer assistance around career guidance. Clients can apply for jobs on-line, and have access to resources including telephones, stamps, newspapers and prospectuses.
Personal Development
Jobs in Mind also offers personal development sessions where clients attend over a period of 4-6 sessions to increase assertiveness and confidence. The programme runs three times a year and caters for up to 8 clients at a time.
Individual Placement support service (pilot)
Jobs in mind successfully gained a contract to provide the IPS model to Camden residents living with severe enduring mental health needs to access paid employment. The service will be integrated within the community mental health teams. The service will focus purely on rapid job search utilising the current skills that people have. It will focus on client preference and provide on-going support to individuals to choose, get and keep employment of their choice. Referrals will be via the community mental health teams allocated an Employment Specialist.
